Tony Georgiades started his Martial Arts career in 1974 training with Sensei Haggerty in Midwest City, Oklahoma. In 1977,
Tony received his Black Belt in Okinawan Goju-Ryu and now holds a 5th Degree. Additionally, Tony earned a 3rd Degree Black
Belt in Shorin-Ryu under Sensei Glen Rabago in Las Vegas, Nevada and a Black Belt in Ju-Jitsu from Sensei Walt Tatom in Midwest
City, OK. During these years Tony fought in Semi-Contact Karate Tournaments winning or placing in over 100 tournaments,
including winning the Middle weight Division in the Nationals in 1983. Also during this same time frame Tony decided to try
his hand at Full-Contact Karate, or what is referred to as "Kickboxing". Tony earned a rating as the 10th World
Contender to the World Champion Bill "superfoot" Wallace in the World Journal Ratings.
In 1980 Tony met the World Champion in a fight set in Denver, Colorado.
Even though the Champion prevailed, Tony walked away with the knowledge that he was the only fighter ever to knockdown the
World Champion for an eight-count, which happened in the "first round"! This fight and Tony's outstanding record
as a Martial Artist earned him a position in the 1982-83 edition of the, Who's Who in Karate.
Tony went on to become a certified Peace Officer, working as a
Senior Probation and Parole Officer. During this time frame Tony became the Defensive Tactics Instructor for his District
teaching his fellow officers Custody Control, Weapon Retention, Knife Defense, Expandable Baton, OC Spray and Defensive Driving
techniques. Additonally, Tony would help teach for the Oklahoma State Council on Law Enforcement and Education as well as
an Adjunct Instructor for Oklahoma State University's Police Science Department.
Tony has trained instructors across the United States as well as such countries as
Kuwait and Afghanistan in Cardio Pump Kickboxing and Police Self-Defense. Tony was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and was
awarded 2 Bronze Stars. He led a police training team in Afghanistan to help train Afghanistan police and developed the first
Emergency Response Team in the country. He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army National Guard.
Tony is an NRG Certified instructor,
an ACE Group Fitness Instructor, a SCHWINN cycling Instructor, Resistance Training Specialist II under Tom Purvis and Focus
on fitness, a "Senior BladeMaster" in knife defense training under Sifu John Douvillier, and an
AFAA certified Kickboxing Instructor.
